Wow! What a weekend! I catered a Bridal Shower for 50 this weekend – A Mad Hatter Tea Party affair. What an awesome time with some great people. I’ve included some pictures of the food prepared – all finger foods from mini-lasagnas and Quiche to Lemon Cookies and Sorbet. The cake was the centerpiece, I tried to stay away from the typical hat shapes but did do a 2 and 1/2 tier cake – I know, what’s that? Okay, it’s an odd hat shape – but no fondant.

It’s a golden cake with Mango Buttercream and thinly sliced strawberries in the middle, and a Vanilla Buttercream with thinly sliced strawberries on the second layer. The half was plain butter cream in the middle but lots of candy to keep the theme. Cornelli design with smarties on the tops of the cakes, and Maltesers around each tier. Pictures below.


Lunch Menu – Mini Meat Lasagna, Mini Shiitake Mushroom-Béchamel Lasagna, Crustless Quiche with Smoked Turkey-Carrot-Zucchini-Cheese, Spinach and Feta on Toasts, Egg Salad Tarts, Three different Finger Sandwiches – Watercress, Smoked Salmon-Capers-Cream Cheese-Cucumber, and Spicy Coriander Chutney Sandwiches, Mushroom-Cream Cheese stuffed Profiteroles, Spicy Salmon-Sea Bass Croquettes.


Dessert Menu – The Cake (description above), Berry Sorbet, Mango Sorbet – served in shot glasses, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies, Lemon Egg Yolk Cookies, Earl Grey Shortbread Cookies, Chocolate-Chocolate Chip Cookies, Brownies, Jam Tarts.
